INS Arihant

INS Arihant (Sanskrit for"Slayer of Enemies") is the lead ship of Indian's Arihant class nuclear powered ballistic missile submarines. The 6000 tonne monster vessel was built under the ATV( Advanced Technology vessel)
Project at the ship building center in the port city of Visakhapatnam. It has the code name S2. The vessel is classified as a strategic strike nuclear submarine by India.
                     
On December 13, 2014 Arihant sailed north along the bay of Bengal coast of it's extension sea trials. The sea trials included the firing of the Sagarika  ballistic missile and on 25 November,2015 a dummy or unarmed Sagarika missile was successfully test fired from Arihant. According to ' The Economic Times' several weapon's trials of INS Arihant have been understaken secretly. In August 2016 Prime Minister Narendra modi commissioned INS Arihant into the India Navy . It was announced that on 5 November 2018 that INS Arihant after patrol of 20 days .
